Physics Club recently held an Escape Room for club members! Club members were split into teams and given physics-related puzzles to solve. Puzzles included math problems, word puzzles, and even using lasers! Competition was tough, and both teams were neck-a-neck the entire time! One team finally emerged victorious, and won candy and eraser animals as a result! Thank you to members for participating, and thank you to the officers for organizing and hosting!

Over spring break, our club traveled to New Mexico to participate in several physics-related activities. We began with the Very Large Array, which is a radio telescope that is made up of several 25-meter dishes. It's been used to look at galaxies, nebulae, and more. We were able to walk up to one of the dishes, and the size difference is absolutely insane! We then traveled to Los Alamos National Laboratory, where we were given a tour and got to meet University of Arizona alumni who work at LANL. It was absolutely fascinating to see the work done at LANL, and to have the opportunity to learn about different career choices in physics! We also visited some sights from the Oppenheimer movie, such as Oppenheimer's house and the boarding school which served as the lodge in the movie where Oppenheimer gave his speech. We next traveled to Albuquerque, where we visited the Nuclear Museum. We learned about nuclear history beginning in World War II and leading through the Cold War, and we also learned different ways nuclear power is still used today. We also got to see different planes and missiles that were previously built during World War II and the Cold War. Finally, we ended the trip with a visit to White Sands National Park, where our club members had fun racing and sliding across the dunes. We're so glad that so many members showed up for the trip, and we hope to have even more next year!
